Get A Page One Listing - Without Spending A Dollar!
If you’re like me, you’ve written a few articles and submitted them to different article sites in hopes of getting the word out about something. Whether it be a new technique for training a dog, a review of a product you’ve purchased, or just an article about an experience you had. Whatever you’ve written about, you did it with a purpose in mind. And that purpose is to get people to read it and “hear” what you have to say! Well, in order to get the most page views, you will want to get a page one listing on any of the major search engines. Google, Yahoo or MSN would be considered great places for a page one listing.
So, how do you do that?
It’s all in the keywords, my friends! Actually, there’s a little more that goes into it, but basically if you choose the correct keywords and use them in your article, you can get more people to see your article or blog.
First of all, start by using Google’s search engine to find good keywords that have relatively low competition. If you type in a keyword phrase (in quotes) into the search bar, it will show you how many competing pages you have for that given phrase. We are looking to keep the results between 1000 and 5000. If there is too few, then the phrase just isn’t good enough. Too many, and it’ll be very hard to achieve a first page one listing. The key is finding that “happy medium”.
So now what? You’ve found that phrase, but how much should you use it? Well, the general rule on keyword density is keeping it between 2% and 5%. Some people will say different, but in my experience, this is where you want it. So in a nutshell, for every 400 to 700 word article or blog your keyword phrase should be included anywhere from 4 to 7 times. Be careful not to go over, or your’ll get penalized by the search engines!
Here’s another tip! You should be using an article/blog site that has a decent Google page rank. Sites that are between 5 and 8 would be considered good, and should get you a page one listing relatively easy. All you have to do is use a page rank tool (search Google) to find out what sites rank well in the search engines. And, on last thing before you can get on with your writing! If the article/blog site you choose allows it, try linking to another site from your article or blog. This may help you with getting a page one listing that ranks near the top, but it isn’t fool proof by any means!
Take these tips and use them! It will help you get more views by having a page one listing, so keep writing and utilize these tips!
