If you’re looking for a camera phone that can keep pace with
you, the LG KU990 Viewty is a superior choice for connectivity on the go. A beautiful, sleek package that almost
disguises the awesome power built in to this phone, the KU990 is the ultimate
in slim, hot and fast.
For starters, this super sleek lightweight phone is a
delight at 112g and is less than 15mm in depth.
This slim line beauty is available in an array of colors, including the
obligatory black, a smoking hot purple and a voluptuous red. The extra large display panel is a three inch
touch screen that is beautifully easy to use.
When the screen is touched the phone vibrates slightly to offer feedback
to the user that the touch has been recognized.
The built in camera is a 5 megapixel camera and has a 10x
digital zoom. The Image Stabiliser makes
it easy for even the newest user to take great pictures that don’t blur. LG is excited to be the first to offer its
users the choice of manual focusing, and the camera includes some must have
capabilities such as SmartLight technology for low lighting conditions, video
capabilities and integration for video phone calling.
One of my favorite things about this phone is the almost
crazy capabilities of the battery. The
battery supports a whopping 434 hours of standby time ? that’s over 18 days! ?
and 355 minutes of actual talk time ? almost 6 hours. That’s particularly helpful for my crazy fast
paced lifestyle.
My second favorite thing about this phone is that it
supports DivX video playback. I love big
screen playback just as much as the next guy, but this one feature is a big
plus in my world. I’ve used it to
entertain a sick nephew, to mend the stress of a particularly bad day, and to
put what would have been wasted time to work by reviewing training videos. Big pluses in my book!
My biggest complaint about this phone is the lack of
WiFi. I do expect them to be
incorporating it into future versions, but I would have to say that the lack of
support for it in this model is a definite drawback and for most business
people would be an actual deal breaker.
In its favor is the HSDPA which operates at 3.6 Mega bytes
per second. That means that even without
the WiFi you will still have full Internet browsing capabilities with the
latest Google package for mobile phones.
The Google package includes built in Google Search, e-Blogger, Gmail and
Google Maps. If I made this my full-time
phone I would definitely miss having GPS functions built in, but I’m also sure
that the things I miss about this model would require sacrificing its
lightweight design to include them. For
me personally it would be a worthwhile tradeoff, but I do recognize that for
many people it wouldn’t be.
Overall, this phone is quite muscular to coming in such a
small, lightweight package, and the Internet capabilities alone would keep the
average user more than satisfied with using it.
It’s certainly not for everyone, but as long as its capabilities meet
your needs , we do recommend this phone for your use.
