Six Reasons You Need Your Own Affiliate Program
Affiliate Marketing has become very popular in the last several years. With sites like Clickbank and Commission Junction, being an affiliate has become just as easy as signing up for a forum or a mailing list. As a product creator, having an affiliate program is an excellent way to improve your sales and chances for success. Here are six reasons why you must have an affiliate program set up if you are selling a product.
- You can create a kick-butt sales page (as Mike Glaspie would say) for the item. Hopefully, your affiliates will also create kick-butt sales pages to presell your product. This way you will often end up with two sales pages worth of marketing. Your affiliates will usually have different ideas than you on how to sell the product. The two methods together gives you a better chance of inspiring more people to purchase your product.
- You have a whole team of people advertising your product. Brick and mortar retail stores are not usually run by the owner alone. This is especially true if there is more than on location. Think of your online business in the same way. If you want to expand, you must employ. Starting an affiliate program gives you an army of employees that are working for commission only. If they are good employees, you will increase your sales exponentially.
- You only pay your team when they make sales. This is great because it means you do not need any money to get your affiliate program started. Aside from perhaps a few bucks for a decent affiliate program script or a Clickbank seller’s account.
- It makes setting up joint ventures much easier as you have already arranged a way to pay partners. Obviously you will have to tweak this sometimes for partners, but once you have set up the first program, it is always easier to set up the second one.
- If you create the program yourself or use another application hosted on your own server, you have full control of your profits. This is ideal. Smart businesspeople have control of their own money at all times. Clickbank might be convenient, but it creates another wall between you and your cash.
- Affiliate marketing is a great networking tool. As you build your army of affiliates, you are also building contacts. And once you have your army, you do not have to start from the very beginning ever again. You may want to recruit every once in awhile, but you will already have a list of trusted affiliates each time you launch a new product.
There are other great reasons why an affiliate program is integral to your increased success as an internet marketer. However, none are nearly as important as these six. The best way to get started is to just get started. Do not file this article away for a couple of weeks or months or forever. The only way you will ever become a super affiliate is if you get started.
