To really succeed in internet marketing you have to know how to start a website. It is very difficult to make money online without a website, and you will likely be relying on a form of MLM whereby you are given a ‘free’ website that you can use to promote the product, whether it is tangible goods or simply memberships to the scheme.
You cannot use these websites for anything other than promoting the product relating to the system, so it is not really a ‘free website’ at all. You cannot use it for your own needs and are restricted to selling the product. It by far a better idea to get your own website that you can use for anything you wish.
So how do you go about it? First you will have to find a web host. The host is the company that provides you with the web space and tools necessary to get a website online. There is a very wide choice on the internet, and you must decide what you want prior to making your choice. It’s a bit like putting the cart before the horse, since you probably have no idea what you want before you actually try one out.
However, there are a few basic software requirements necessary in order to run a website that is designed to sell articles or services online. In addition to the web space you need an email service that allows you several email addresses. You will also need an autoresponder system that automatically answers and replies to the emails necessary to run your business. Ideally the autoresponder should provide you with an opt-in form generation system, and should be able to handle your opt-ins and maintain an email address list or database.
