Affiliate marketing has become a big trend in the past 10 years. If you are not familiar with affiliate marketing is a promotion of businesses by connecting buyers and sellers. Then often the person connecting the buyers and sellers is rewarded for making this connection. Salespeople and publishers are often referred to as affiliates. There are 5 nifty methods to make money though affiliate marketing.
Pay per click (PPC) – is used on websites, search engines and advertising networks where the advertisers will only pay when a user actually clicks on the ad. The ad then routes the user to the advertiser’s website.
Pay per lead (PPL) – is an agreement that states that the advertiser will only pay for leads that are where people sign up at their sites. No monetary value is given for visitors who do not sign up. A led does not mean a purchase it can be as little information as an email address.
Pay per sale – is an agreement that states the advertiser will only pay for sales generated at the destination site. The commission rate is also agreed upon in this agreement. This is often the most favorable payment type to advertisers but least favorite to publishers.
Cost per thousand impressions (CPM) – is an agreement that many publishers prefer. The CPM rate is multiplied by the number of CPM units. Impression amounts are paid by calculating the CPM by a 1000. Here is an example $10 CPM/1000 impressions = $.01 per impression.
Choosing the right product is last but certainly not least among the most important things that you need to do. Make sure that you are well versed in the product that you choose. Also choose a product that is within your main audience. Choose something that your customers might already be familiar with.
