One of the common and probably most important duties of webmasters or website owners is to do routinary actions in their websites. Certain actions such as running scripts, sending group e-mails, or updating the database must be done regularly. However, there are times when your memory fails to serve you right. Other things occupy the busy mind of a webmaster, so sometimes, he forgets about an upcoming scheduled assignment. Also, some tasks are too difficult to handle that it could take a lot of time and effort before manual labor can complete it. If you own a website that has a considerable number of visitors or subscribers, you can’t afford to miss on performing certain tasks. Possible consequences, such as profit loss and damaged company reputation for inability to deliver services on time, are unfavorable to the website owner.

As a web designer I have experienced the highs and lows of virtual web hosting for both myself and my clients. I believe there are some important factors to watch out for when choosing a web host, and if not paid attention to these

Cheap Does Not Mean Good

When it comes to the internet and getting our feet wet with a new website, we may have a tendency to be tentative and look for the cheapest deal available. This mentality may end up costing you more money in the long run versus investing a few more bucks into a dependable web host. Most of the companies offering an under $5 monthly option are usually larger companies that offer hosting as a sideline item as opposed to the priority.

A very important step in establishing online business is having one’s own website. Web designing today is not as hard as it used be, with the availability of html editors and point and click soft-wares. Anyone can create a website without knowledge of html. But one should remember that designing a website is just the beginning and not the end of online business. He should be able to showcase his site to hundreds of thousands of visitors in order to earn a decent income. Simply hosting a site on a server without getting targeted visitors is like building a supermarket in an island where there are no people.

They don’t consider the importance of finding the right Web hosting service. Given that the vast majority of website owners don’t have their own Web servers, finding the right Web hosting company is critical because bad webhosting can make even the most beautiful and interesting website dead in the water.

There is hosting and then there is hosting and then there is hosting. But, what really is the difference between one type of hosting and another.

To begin with there are the usual issues related to hosting: the speed, the disk space, the bandwidth, the price, and the like. But today I am going to point out one important parameter about hosts that you might overlook, but should not. That almighty parameter is: Who else is hosted on the same server as you are?

We hosting is provided to individuals by companies that have a server to hold much space for websites. Then host your webpages up there for a fee. These companies will usually rent you this space for a monthly fee.

Remember that not all web hosting companies are created equally either. Are you shopping on price or quality? You have heard it said before in other situations that you always get what you pay for. This is true when it comes to web hosting. Now I suppose it also depends on what you figure is expensive or not when it comes to hosting a website.

Web Hosting - What Does Your Site Really Need?

Diskspace

Most hosting providers display large amounts of disk space as an attractive incentive in an attempt to catch your eye. This can mean that normal home packages come with vast amounts of space in the tens of Gb range. This is simply not a realistic amount. Most websites range from between 2-20Mb, not Gb. You may use more space if you are uploading vast amounts of pictures, but even then, 200 JPEG images will still come in less than 70Mb. This means that if your hosting package is providing you with 1500Mb diskspace you will only ever use 10% of that space and the remaining 90% is still available to the hosting provider to sell to someone else.
